Running a successful night

Don’t forget to bring some books for the Big Book Swap – all funds contributed to MSRA).

1. Invite ALL your friends, book groups, family, work mates, all age groups. Ask them all to bring a few favourite books for the Big Book Swap.
2. Create a program and stick to it. People enjoy an event that keeps a good pace. We can supply more details for a good program if requested.
3. Make up teams of 8 or 10 and, if you wish, give them names on the theme for example Oliver Twist or Hermione Granger etc.
4. Nearer to the date email register@throwthebookatms.org.au for the quiz questions (and answers!)
5. Nominate yourself or friend to be the host or Master of Ceremonies.
6. Ask a friend to take the role of asking the questions on the night.
7. Ask another friend or yourself to collect the funds and bank it. See section here Donate
8. Create an extra one off fundraiser – a favourite has been the Big Book Swap. With this, guests bring and donate books, place them on a table and everyone buys them back ! At $5 each.
9. Ask a friend to manage the Book Swap keep it tidy with titles shown AND collect the money.
10. Have a couple of breaks you could also have a few fast and extra fundraising ideas (i.e. everyone stands and answers questions hands on heads if you think one answer or hips if you think another).
